Hoi from Amsterdam

Just a quick post to let everyone know we have arrived safely in Amsterdam. We managed to negotiate the trains and find the right one as well as buying the right tickets. The train conductor was a real character, friendly and chatty, he was very interested in our holiday and gave us some tips. Another girl in the carriage had been to Australia twice and was also very friendly, she was getting off at the same station so guided us out of the station and pointed us in the right direction.

We also got a warm welcome from Pippy the cat in the house we are staying in.

We spent our last night in the camper at Martock, a small village near Ilminster where we had to return the camper. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the village as it rained when we set out for a walk in the evening, we were also quite tired after the long drive from the Peak District, it took nearly seven hours after we hit traffic at both the start and finish of the day. One from roadworks and the other due to the start of the school holidays and everyone heading south to the coast. We did have a nice drive through the Cotswolds though, a very picturesque English
finish to our tour.

The camper was returned safe and sound the next morning, no one was too sad to say goodbye but we will have lots of great memories. Our taxi showed up on time and we made it to Bristol airport in plenty of time, we actually had four hours to kill.

The flight was only an hour, we had thought it was two from the tickets but there is an hours time difference between the UK and Netherlands.

Today is a rest and washing day, as it is Sunday I might have my first left hand drive while the roads are quiet. It's raining but the train guard promised the good weather will be back by Wednesday.
