We are staying in another hilltop village Saignon. A lot quieter and smaller than Cordes though. Not as much a tourist attraction. We spent yesterday exploring a bit closer to home after the 6 1/2 drive from Spain on Tuesday. We visited the village of Roussillon who's claim to fame (apart from being very popular with American and all other tourists) is the ochre in the soil. There has long been a local industry extracting pigment for use in paint etc. It was a very pretty village in which to while away a few hours.
Our other main stop was Fontaine-de-Vaucluse where you can see a spring coming from under the mountain which is the source of the River Sorgue. Another touristy village but some unique shops and a the river is chrystal clear, fresh and cool.
We also did a drive by of Goult on the way home to experience some of the Newman's Provence.

Love the old buildings. You are all looking good, can't tell you are eating all those croissants and baguettes!!!
